Job Title: Technical Team Lead

Location: WFH but we will have an in office Lisbon for collaborative meetings and social events

Salary: 60-80,000 euros

Benefits: 20% bonus, 25 days holiday, healthcare

Progression: We expect this individual to step into an Engineering Manager role

Tech stack: React/JS and Node/JS, JavaScript, express.js, MVC framework

We are hiring our first Full Stack Technical Team Lead due to further expansion. You will be helping build and shape the technical team across the UK, Portugal and Eastern Europe with the support of our VP Technology, Andrew. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual as we grow the team.

Who is FXC?

We are a fast growing financial data (Fintech) company with an enterprise client list of household brands, which include HSBC, PayPal, World Bank, Western Union and MasterCard to name a few. We are rapidly building on our already strong reputation in the finance sector, and as a result most of our recent clients have been gained through word of mouth. We can also boast an almost 100% repeat business rate, both of which are incredible achievements for a start-up company.

We are now creating a technical hub in Portugal, and are seeking our first Technical Team leaders to be instrumental in the growth of the team there.

The role:

• Take overall responsibility for the design and development of the leading edge FXC Intelligence applications

• Using the latest web application frameworks, you will be evolving and building our industry-leading web applications

• Engineering elegant frontend experiences and building scalable backend services for both internal and external customers

• You will be an advocate for good standards, documentation, automation and testing setting the standards for the rest of the team to follow

What we’re looking for:

Ideally you will have solid team leading experience but we will consider you if this is the next step up and you have the right attitude.

• At least 3 years of software development experience

• Recent experience as a senior developer

• Experience coaching and mentoring more junior developers - people are at the heart of who we are

• A positive attitude and willingness to learn - we’re more interested in the right mentality than a specialism in a specific technology

• Experience with React/JS and Node/JS

• NestJS and GraphQL desirable

• Experience writing unit tests

• Excellent communication skills
